1 hour assignment
Digital instrument panel

Part of a case study assignment during an interview process with one of the leading Czech UX Design studios specialized in automotive industry.

I was asked to make a quick sketch of digital instrument panel for an unspecified vehicle. So I've made the task a little more specific and set out to design a panel for an electric vehicle aimed at casual drivers, with the interface to be as simple as possible. Another aim was for this interface to be contextual, changing the visibility of certain elements (like speed limit or range) based on their relevance to current situation. Lastly, it was meant to encourage efficient driving.

Overview

Information on the panel provides clear and comprehensible metrics - speed and range are prominent, others are toned down.

Context

Contextual changes are visible when something requires more attention - like exceeding speed limit or shortening of range caused by inefficient driving.
